“Ethics” as exceptions to the law.

Note how I put the word ethics in quotation marks. This is because it probably isn’t the right word to use there at all. ‘Personal beliefs’ may have been a better descriptor. At the end of the day I personally think it is just an excuse for political movements to not have to be radically progressive. Instead they are allowed to call themselves progressive and social while not fully implementing the laws they promote.

Symphony of Heart

It’s one of those evenings when nature wants to surprise us one more time. There is such a strong connection between human’s heart and natural manifestations. I don’t know how many people felt the connection between the beats of the heart and the sound of the raindrops when they touch a surface.

I recently came across HomebrewCPU.com which documents the creation of the Magic-1 CPU. It also includes a small OS which serves the website magic-1.org. As someone who’s wants to build a prototype CPU and write a small kernel, it resonated with me. Both that someone shared my goals (“Touching the magic”) but also that he really pulled through and made it.

Markdawn 2

19 Oct 2014 14:27 about

In 2013 Markdawn was a complete publishing platform — it had everything. From comment likes to big things like trying to understand how people wrote using statistics and math formulas. It was hard to use, it was even harder to learn. That’s the reason it was offline for a period of 3 months. Time in which Sublevel was the perfect thing to focus on.

Sure. Why not? I’ve always liked Markdown. Constraints can be a way to help you focus your energy. When you deny yourself all of the “stylistic” noise that comes from color, font, size and alignment, all that you have left is the content.

I have spent the last few years working with my academic colleagues to encourage them to use and experiment with technology to support/enhance the learning and teaching experience.
